Director of Group Sales Joins Ocean Property Management

Ocean Property Management is proud to announce a change in management of Cape Tours, the firm's group and convention marketing subsidiary. Ms. Sandy Cherrick has joined Cape Tours as Director of Group Sales and Marketing. In this position, Sandy will be responsibility for managing Cape Tours and booking group and event packages for all Ocean Property managed lodging properties.

Ms. Cherrick comes to Ocean Property with extensive experience in sales and marketing in the lodging industry. She has worked for Hotel Services Inc. serving northern New Jersey and she has owned and operated Hotel Hospitalities Company for more than ten years. The latter firm produces and markets lodging publications for the hospitality industry in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Sandy will be marketing a full range of packages for all markets including senior citizen tours; family and military reunions; sports and special interest groups, church groups and youth groups. She has also developed history based tours focusing on the Doo Wop theme in the Wildwoods and Victoriana in Cape May and several active adult all-inclusive packages including golf and fishing to the already complete Cape Tours menu of services. She will use her contacts in the lodging industry to partner with hotels in other destinations for innovative "two city" packages featuring historic and dinner tours in Philadelphia and Baltimore combined with shorter stay packages in the Wildwoods.

Sandy will use her background in corporate marketing to also bring small conventions and event packages organized by Ocean Property in conjunction with the beautiful, new Greater Wildwoods Convention Center and the resort's tour and travel organizations. She is working with area golf courses, restaurants, retailers and other businesses serving the tour and travel industry for package services. Her newest tour packages target special interest groups such as 50's and 60's music aficionados, Doo Wop organizations, church groups and youth organizations looking for packages designed for their specific interests.

"We find that groups have experienced most of the standard attractions in the Wildwoods," Sandy said. "They are becoming more sophisticated," she explained at a meeting announcing her appointment, "so they look for a wider range of activities throughout the southern shore region that fit their specific interests."

Her work will take her to various cities and travel organizations since she believes effective travel marketing requires face to face contact with clients rather than telephone and mail contact.

The Cape Tours group marketing operation brings additional business in all seasons to Ocean Property managed hotels and motels in the Wildwoods By-the-Sea and Ocean City, NJ. This group and convention marketing division is just one of a full menu of services that Ocean Property offers to add value to its managed motel, hotel and condominium-motel properties. Ocean Property takes pride in the scope of services developed during two decades by its principals with experience managing hospitality and condominium properties in both the local market and in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and California.

The firm currently manages thirty-three properties plus several community associations including Seapointe Village, Belldon's Coastal Colors, Wildwood Ocean Towers, the Cara Mara, Monterey, Four Winds, Blue Palms (ex-Midtown Motel), Starlux, Meadows of Cape Island, Homestead Hotel, Crossings Resort and other premiere lodging and condominium properties in the Wildwoods, Cape May and Ocean City, NJ. Cape Tours hosted more than 100 convention and event groups this past season at the various OPMC managed properties.
